The CURRENT RECEIVES FOUR NEW BUSES
July 26, 2016
ROCKINGHAM – The Current announced today that it has received and put into service four new vehicles as part of its 33-vehicle fleet.
Three of the buses seat 14 riders, and the fourth seats 16. All four include a handicap lift, onboard video security system, and digital two-way radios. They will be used primarily to replace vehicles serving senior routes.
They sport a new graphic pattern that was designed by artist Skip Morrow of Wilmington, who has designed the MOOver Holstein-themed buses for 20 years. The Current’s design features a distinctive blue and green wave the length of the bus.
The buses are El Dorado models on Ford chassis. They are made Salina, Kansas and range in cost from $75,000-95,000. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds 80% of the cost, the Vermont Agency of Transportation funds 10%, and The Current supplies the remaining 10%.
